Who is Lushers Lane?

 Lushers Lamar Lane was born on December 6, 1981 to the proud parents of Curtis Lane and Maxine Kyles. Lushers was a God-fearing man who joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church at the age of 10 and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He had good character and great morals. Lushers graduated from Geneva County High School in Hartford, Alabama in the year of 2000. He graduated fifth in his class and was a 2-year all-state basketball player who received a basketball scholarship to Auburn University in Montgomery (AUM). Lushers' basketball career was cut short in his sophomore year when he was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. He continued his education and received a bachelor from AUM in sports leadership. He also received masters from Alabama State University in Physical Education and a Eds. From AUM in Physical Education. At the time of his death, he was pursuing a master’s in administration from AUM. 

Lushers married his high school sweetheart, Tangela Sullen in 2007. Lushers and Tangela had two daughters, Sania (2012) and Layla (2017). Lushers loved working with children because it was evident by the jobs he performed. Lushers worked at The Department of Youth Service for 13 years while teaching PE in the Montgomery Public School System for 10 years before succumbing to Covid-19 on January 20, 2021.

 Lushers was a very special man that God placed on this earth for a short time. He was loved by his family, friends, and co-workers. He touched a lot of children’s hearts and he will be dearly missed by all of us. He was a great husband, father, son, and big brother. He only wanted to make a difference in this world.
